Folklaur Ticonderoga Mtn Boy
Owned and Cherished by Trish, Bob and Emily Romano. Trish wrote "... I had really hoped this email wouldn’t be necessary for a long time, but we were blindsided in August upon returning from Maine. We lost our sweet Moose after a sudden day & a half of severe seizures. All tests pointed to a brain tumor, with nothing to be done. The poor thing couldn’t even recover between attacks, so we sadly had to let him go. (August 25th) There were one or two obscure signs a month or so before that now seem to make sense in light of this diagnosis. It was quite a shock & still is when I look at photos of him & Winslow playing on the beach just days before. Even now, after a couple of months, I feel like I’m living in an unfamiliar universe with both him & Magalloway gone. Moose & I had a extra special bond. He was the best hiking buddy anyone could have, was SO sweet & was a truly GOOD dog! He was so loved & it will take a long time to absorb the sting of his loss. We all miss him so, & I’m sorry Winslow only knew him for a couple of months- but even in that short time, he learned so much from this good dog! Moose is buried next to Magalloway. I
like to imagine them young & playing ball together again, along with a third
large lab, Buck- not met during their lifetime, but also waiting for us. |
