Folklaur Mr. Fezziwig
Part of what Trish wrote "... Now nearing the end of what has been a most sorrowful year for our family, I didn’t think there was anything left in our hearts to break. But I was so wrong. Bob & I are mourning the loss of Magalloway on November 2, 4 months shy of 15 years old- a good age for a large dog, but even 30 years would have felt too short a time for us. His body just wore down. We are SO glad we had such a great summer with him in Maine after his surgery in early July (splenectomy) which gave him & us the opportunity to spend a wonderful August-long summer vacation at our new cabin in Maine. (–much more people & old-dog friendly, much easier to get to the water.) He swam every day, went out in the boat, sunbathed on his new dock & did all the things he most enjoyed in life. We are SO glad we had this one last special summer, but makes the pain of his loss no less. He was the most pleasant, sweet, old dog with an actual “human” sense of humor. He was the smartest canine we ever met & feel such sorrow in having to say goodbye to such a wonderful companion. He is mourned & missed by all in our family, along with his great buddy, Moose & cat-buddy Nony. To say his departure has left a hole in our lives is an understatement. I know this news will also bring you much sorrow, also. Attached is the picture taken on our dock this summer, which is how we will most remember Magalloway. I’ve also attached that 35mm shot of him from so long ago as “wonderdog”, (I’m sure you’ll remember), which best portrays his indomitable spirit. Love, Trish & Bob
